Engineering Building, Silla University

The Engineering Building follows the same principles as other structures on the Baekyang Campus, minimizing alterations to the natural topography, conforming to the terrain, and reflecting the existing campus axis. As the first building encountered upon entering the Phase 2 campus, it also functions as a gateway, which should be addressed through an additional concept in terms of physical circulation and visual presence.

The project site featured a steep slope with a 20m elevation difference, but through iterative drawings and repeated site visits, two building plots were created within the master plan scope with minimal terrain modification: the lower plot responsive to the existing campus flow and the upper plot for the main mass announcing the new campus threshold, physically and visually connected through this plan.
