Juan Presbyterian Church

Juan Presbyterian Church

The attitude of JUNGLIM in pursuing an urban church typology is prominent in the Juan Presbyterian Church. This church, which includes a sanctuary that accommodates up to 6,500 people, is also a small city that can accommodate the church’s diverse functions and welfare facilities related to fellowship that take place throughout the week. As in Halleluyah Christian Church, the exterior of the church takes on the form of an Ark. However, if the Halleluyah gives a monumental impression due to its strong jade-green tiles, then the white surfaces which characterize Juan Presbyterian Church contribute to the formation of a monotonous, yet unique, Korean urban landscape due to the color and juxtaposition of the high-rise apartments located in the vicinity of the church.
