The High-Tech BU specializes in designing high-tech industrial facilities that form the foundation of future industries, related to semiconductors, secondary batteries, energy and environment. By collaborating with engineering partners and internalizing technical expertise, the unit pursues an integrated design approach encompassing both planning and consulting. It has designed high-tech industrial facilities ranging from advanced semiconductor facilities such as SK Hynix’s Yongin Cluster Phase 1 Fab, to secondary battery and bio-related facilities.
The unit prepares for the future by managing high-tech design to integrate design and technology, guided by principles such as optimized spatial configuration, adaptability to change, sustainability, precision (data-driven design), and collaboration. It aims to play a pioneering role in advanced facility design, anticipating expansion into future fields such as urban air mobility — including vertiports for takeoff and landing — energy industries like photovoltaic and nuclear power, and eventually space development.
