Located within a residential neighborhood at the foot of Namsan Mountain, the Luther Missionary Residence consists of four townhouses. Taking into account the shape of the lot and its south-facing orientation, the floor plans were arranged in a staggered configuration, and the site’s elevation differences were utilized to create a cross-section with two stories at the front and three stories at the rear. The living room windows at the front of the building project diagonally to the southwest, offering views and adding variation to the simple exterior with their heavily shaded louvers. The gable walls facing the entrance are arranged rhythmically, repeating patterns that follow the floor plan and topography.
