As a symbol of university library, the central library building becomes literally a most important building of the campus. The design adopted both open and closed stack systams for the library operation and clearly separated controlled areas from noncontralled areas throughout the library building. There is a contral and check point on the second floor which becomes a node connecting the controlled and noncontralled areas. The lobby space on the first floor is decorated to commemorate academic and spiritual achievements of a famous Korean philospher, Toigue. The Court yard allows sufficient penetration of sunlight into the building interior and helps proper air ventilation. Exterio wall of the typical floors are finished by graniteon pre-castpanels and their texture shows a strong contrast tot eh rough finish a t the walls of the building base.
