The Samyang Corporation Headquarters building gained recognition as Korea’s first building to utilize prefabricated concrete (PC) panels with attached tiles as exterior cladding at the time of its design. During installation of tile PCs from the lower to upper floors, deviations found in the upper levels required readjustment of all previously installed PCs from the beginning. After repeating these trial-and-error processes several times, the building was finally completed.

The site where the Samyang headquarters is located had significant level differences between the front and back, and featured many trees including ginkgo, juniper, maple, and miscellaneous trees. The old ginkgo tree, which could not be relocated, was preserved in its original place through careful consideration and work from planning and design through one year after completion. The extent of the basement was also determined mainly to protect the trees.
