SK Hynix SUPEX Center, Cheongju

The SK Hynix Supex Center, newly constructed in the Cheongju Campus 4 complex, comprises office spaces along with employee welfare facilities such as a cafeteria, auditorium, fitness center, and exhibition hall. Emphasizing SK Hynix’s corporate philosophy of “sharing” and “innovation,” it focuses on creating a symbolic office that reflects superior design and functionality as the top company in the region. Also, green spaces around the center address the shortage of greenery within the industrial complex, positioning the building as the campus’s central hub.

Creating a “campus” atmosphere within the complex requires each building to have its own character while maintaining overall design consistency. The Supex Center shares a façade design language with the fabrication facilities (fabs) on campus: the lower floors feature dark granite and aluminum panels, while the upper floors use lighter colors and colored low-E glass. To reduce vibrations and noise from the parking tower and fabrication facilities connected to the office space, the design employs eco-friendly materials and structural reinforcements.
