The New Seorak Hotel is situated at the foot of a scenic mountain where spectacular rocky peaks rise like guardian stones of Seorak. The massing draws from sketches of the surrounding peaks, with an S-shaped plan introducing variation to the building’s skyline to harmonize with the mountain contours. Avoiding a central corridor plan, it opens views toward the Kwongeumseong fortress ruins to emphasize resort hotel character, while exterior spaces and rooftop landscaping further integrate the building with nature. Acquired by the E-Land Group in 1995, it now operates as a Kensington Hotel & Resort.
