The W office building in Yeoksam-dong, located in the Gangnam three-district station area business zone, will serve as the first Seoul headquarters for the Wonik Group, with subsidiaries from its new business division slated to move in. The design focuses on creating not only an office, but a branded space that architecturally embodies Wonik Group’s core values: “freedom, communication, and happiness.” The goal was to provide an office environment reflecting the diversity of users and lifestyles and the flow of daily life, offering a “workplace where people want to stay.” Recognizing the difficulty of finding natural environments and relaxation spaces in the highly dense urban core, the design proposes integrating these as “office amenity” spaces deep inside the building, manifested as a “vertical promenade” that fosters emotional connection with nature.

The vertical promenade, conceptualized as a “genuine promenade with indoor comfort,” features various themed spaces including indoor landscaping on each floor, designed to encourage concentration and collaboration. This promenade incorporates biophilic design principles to stimulate creativity among Wonik Group members and create a three-dimensional environment supporting psychological recovery through shared communal experiences. At the same time, the facade elements facing the main road express Wonik Group’s unique identity, providing a differentiated cityscape against the monotonous and barren backside roads of Gangnam Station. By offering an office environment where users can experience a connection with nature in the city and flexibly enjoy their lifestyles, this project aims to set a new standard for station-area office developments.
