The Starfield Library, located within the Starfield COEX Mall, is the result of combining the client’s desire to lead new shopping trends and Junglim Architecture’s expertise in designing the existing Starfield buildings. Junglim Architecture planned a space that blends books, culture, and arts under the concept of integrating shopping and culture, making it accessible not only to mall visitors but also to nearby office workers and local residents. It is an open library free to all, uniquely having high ceilings and abundant daylight within COEX Mall. Three symbolic large bookshelves, each 13 meters tall, are situated in the Central Plaza, the mall’s core area where multiple circulation paths converge, thereby securing symbolic importance while serving as wayfinding elements for visitors.
