New Workplace for SK Seorin Building

New Workplace for SK Seorin Building

The project of designing a “New Workplace” for SK Seorin Building, which had long been the integrated headquarters for SK Group, originated from the group owner’s strong desire to transform how the company works. It involved comprehensively redesigning workspace and systems, marking a pioneering business for Junglim Architecture by leading trends in office environments and opening new market possibilities. A key change was introducing the Activity Based Workplace (ABW) concept, expanding shared spaces that can be chosen by employees as their workspaces based on individual or collaborative needs. The goal was to gradually shift space use across the whole group affiliates toward a “shared office” model.

Typical work floors are largely divided into the “Focus Zone” and the “Collaboration Zone.” The Focus Zone provides a variety of workspaces tailored to the needs of tasks requiring communication, such as meetings, as well as individual, independent work. The Collaboration Zone serves as a transitional space to the Focus Zone and offers a mixed-use area where teams, departments, and companies can interact, communicate, and relax. The “Shared Zone,” designed to welcome affiliates and partners and provide spaces for changing atmospheres during work, is evenly distributed throughout the Seorin Building from the lobby to the rooftop. The most distinctive expression of this is the terraced lounge on the 20th and 21st floors, which provides a space where all employees can gather for close and comfortable conversations.
