Seoul Square (Daewoo Center Renovation)

Seoul Square (Daewoo Center Renovation)

A remodeling of the former Daewoo Center Building, Seoul Square displays an image of an office building with a modern sense which departs from the rigid exterior image of the original building. Junglim which designed the building in collaboration with iarc Architects maintained the original elevation of the building, which is composed of a series of repeated vertical stripes and glass windows, retained the symbolism of the building by modifying the materials and details of the facade, and equipped the building with a modern look. The facade of the building, also known as the media canvas, functions as a screen on which various works of media art are projected, which shows a new attempt to construct a landmark in the metropolis of Seoul through the fusion of media art and architectural design.
