The Nongshim Integrated Distribution Center Incheon is planned as a forward operating base for Nongshim Group’s global export and import operations and serves as a regional logistics hub in the western metropolitan area centered in Incheon. It functions as an independent operation center for bonded goods such as Baeksansu water imported from China. The design prioritizes circulations and layout considering automation, optimization, systemization, and flexibility. The building uses precast concrete (PC) with RPS at the lower levels and pre-engineered building (PEB) steel plate structures above, enabling efficient management of the construction cost and schedule. The blue-hued mass symbolizes the purity of Baeksansu, and the two-tone horizontal facade follows Nongshim’s logistics design characteristics.
The bonded warehouse is composed of an automatic storage and retrieval system (AS/RS) with 5,872 slots at a height of 33 meters. The architectural design was 100% optimized for automation, including 35 docks and 33 shipping areas with automated sorters, shuttle racks, flow racks, mini-loads, palletizers, depalletizers, rail-guided vehicles (RGVs) as part of the GTP system, and conveyors optimized for direct cargo-loading. Considering 24/7 operation, the distribution center employs zoned air conditioning systems for worker safety and comfort.
