LOTTE Mall West Lake Hanoi

LOTTE Mall West Lake Hanoi

Lotte Mall West Lake Hanoi is a mixed-use commercial complex that reflects the dynamic economic, environmental, and cultural characteristics of Vietnam. Combining a shopping mall, hotel, residences, and offices, it distinguishes itself from existing shopping malls in Hanoi. Junglim Architecture provided consulting services in 2015 when the Lotte Group acquired a low-rise shopping mall project under development by an Indonesian company. Later, in May 2016, Junglim’s design proposal was selected as the final winner in the design competition. Based on Junglim’s schematic design, the project was further developed in collaboration with Benoy in 2018.

Lotte Mall West Lake Hanoi was planned as an indoor mall in consideration of the region’s high temperatures, humidity, and frequent weather changes. Each facility has its own main entrance, yet all circulation paths are organically connected around the shopping mall. The design reinterprets the mall not as a space solely for shopping but as a place that encourages visitors to stay longer and enjoy a variety of experiences. Taking advantage of its location facing West Lake and a site-specific composition, the mall offers a unique destination where tourism and shopping come together.
