Voluntary Employee Fundraising Supports Wildfire Victims and Myanmar Earthquake Relief
Junglim Architecture & Associates (hereafter Junglim Architecture) donated 55 million won to the international relief and development NGO Hope Friends Korea to aid neighbors affected by disasters at home and abroad, marking its 58th anniversary. This donation was made possible by combining voluntary contributions from all employees with corporate-level support and will be used for emergency relief for domestic wildfire victims and the Myanmar earthquake-affected region.
KRW 20 million will be delivered to domestic wildfire-affected areas, supporting practical recovery efforts such as emergency living kits, livelihood expenses, and medical costs for affected families. KRW 35 million will be delivered to earthquake-affected areas in Myanmar, providing emergency relief supplies including temporary shelter, hygiene items, and medical expenses.
Junglim Architects has been realizing ESG values while jointly exploring the direction of social responsibility that the construction industry can practice. CEO Lee Myeong-jin stated, “Based on the interests of our employees, we allocated the total 100 million won social contribution fund to △relief for victims of the Gyeongbuk wildfires, △restoration of natural ecosystems, △Emergency relief for the Myanmar earthquake.“ He added, ”We believe our partnership with Korea Food for the Hungry International, which has accurately assessed needs and swiftly delivered support at disaster sites, is a good example of sustainable solidarity based on trust.” Choi Chang-nam, Chairman of Hope Friends Korea Food for the Hungry International, remarked, “Thanks to the valuable donations collected with one heart and one mind by Jeonglim Architects’ employees at every urgent site, we were able to carry out more rapid and systematic relief operations on the ground.” He pledged, “Going forward, Korea Food for the Hungry International will continue to provide the swiftest and most honest customized support tailored to on-site needs, doing our utmost to ensure recovery efforts in emergency relief areas progress to full reconstruction.”
