The Hyundai Elevator Chungju Smart Campus project involves the construction of new smart production facilities and headquarters of Hyundai Elevator, the leading company in South Korea’s elevator industry, which is being relocated to the Chungju Industrial Complex. Consolidating previously dispersed facilities from Icheon and other locations, the campus occupies two adjacent sites housing the headquarters, production building, R&D center, test tower, logistics center, service center, and dormitory.
Located on the outskirts of the 5th Chungju Industrial Complex, the site borders the slopes of Mount Gyemyeong to the north and opens southward to the South Han River, offering a superior environment within the industrial complex. The smart campus project focuses on creating a distinct environment beyond conventional industrial production facilities. Significant attention was given to the building’s exterior design and layout to establish a new corporate symbol visible from outside the campus. The 300-meter-tall elevator test tower, planned as the world’s tallest, will act as a landmark for Chungju.
