Led by Leader Hanwoong Hwang, the Urban Impact BU specializes in urban development design for sustainable city growth and efficient spatial planning, undertaking pre-negotiation, urban environment improvement, station area development, domestic and international super-tall mixed-use construction, and creative & innovative design projects. Based on his successful experience with the Yongsan Tourist Bus Terminal site development (Seoul Dragon City) — for which Seoul adopted the pre-negotiation system for the first time — Hwang seeks to create buildings that restore urban order and value, flexibly responding to policy changes in collaboration between public and private sectors.
Since joining Junglim Architecture in 2007, Hwang has served as a design division’s specialist PM and currently leads the Urban Impact BU. He has carried out numerous projects to realize creative developments that utilize urban space complexly and innovatively, including the Gangnam Metropolitan Transfer Center and the Dongja District 2 2030 Urban Environment Improvement Project.
