The Halla Holdings Sejong Distribution Center provides integrated logistics services based on automotive parts, including domestic and export transportation, packaging, and logistics operation management. This large-scale facility can accommodate approximately 35,000 pallets and allows about 12 trucks to dock simultaneously for loading and unloading. Halla Holdings planned the Sejong center to consolidate the Gwangju, Daejeon, and Asan centers among its four existing distribution facilities.
The most important factor in a logistics facility is the site level that ensures smooth vehicle access. However, unlike typical logistics or industrial sites, this site — planned as part of a district unit plan — has a 15-meter level difference. To mitigate the oppressive appearance of the resulting retaining wall, support facilities such as offices and cafeterias were placed on the basement level, creating a more natural topography.
The ground floor is used as a logistics area, while the basement accommodates offices and other amenities. To maximize spatial efficiency, the stacking height of the Sejong distribution center was set between 8.5 to 10 meters. Accordingly, ultra-flat flooring was installed to ensure safety.
