Changwon Miraenamoo Kindergarten

Changwon Miraenamoo Kindergarten

Miraenamoo Kindergarten Changwon was planned as a workplace childcare facility accommodating around 300 children for employees of Doosan Heavy Industries’ Gyeongnam branch and six affiliated companies in the Changwon area, as well as local residents. This project involved remodeling an existing building on a site acquired by the client, with key challenges including selective demolition, defining the scope for additions, and securing the necessary space and facility areas suited to the scale of the new childcare operations. Particular attention was given to legal and technical restrictions on expansions, prioritizing above all the enhancement of safety as a space for children. As a corporate workplace daycare, the design also embodied the company’s philosophy and commitment to talent development, while manifesting a positive corporate image through social contribution.

Named “Child Cube,” this space regenerates an existing building into a nurturing ground for dreams and future growth — a creative workshop that equips children with wings of imagination and creativity, reborn as their new haven. Children will encounter snug and pretty playgrounds filled with unexpected joys. It is hoped that this place becomes fertile soil, nurturing their small, precious dreams into beautiful and abundant fruition.
