The site is a district unit planned area open to the West Sea, located at the end of the Gyeongin Expressway extension line, and was completed to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Incheon Port’s opening. The design strives to adapt to the large 8,000-pyeong (about 26,446 sq. m.) site and its conditions in harmony with surrounding buildings, while pursuing dignified authority as a branch of the national bank alongside refined sculptural beauty with a modern sensibility. Evoking the image of a white hull floating above blue reflective glass reminiscent of the vast sea, this building eschews the closed image of traditional banks to create more open and vibrant spatial expressions.
