Anyang-Maegok Public Housing District Master Plan

Anyang-Maegok Public Housing District Master Plan

The Anyang-Maegok District was planned with the goal of returning the long-neglected Maegok Neighborhood Park to the citizens of Anyang. Once underutilized as a park due to its steep topography, the site has been reimagined as a community-oriented space. Under three themes — a village in harmony with nature beyond the mountain, neighbors living together beyond the fence, and a compassionate community beyond the alley — the project proposes “Bisannomeo,” a village community that embraces diversity and coexistence with nature.

Reflecting the characteristics of its connection with the existing urban fabric, the plan introduces three community hubs: the “Growing Hub,” the “Healing Hub,” and the “Creative Hub.” These hubs are anchored by the “Community Core,” a central management facility planned on the former site of the Anyang Etiquette Center, forming the foundation for a tangible community environment. The plan also preserves the ecological environment of Maegok Neighborhood Park, sustaining the natural landscape of Mt. Samseong while creating outdoor civic spaces that blend the flow of nature seamlessly into the urban setting
