Incheon Cheongna Area Foreign Investment Inducement Project(International Financial Town)

The Cheongna District Foreign Investment Attraction Project, located in the Gyeongseo-dong area of Seo-gu, Incheon, aimed to establish an investment hub that reflects the unique culture of East Asia as an international business town, thereby creating an investment and finance city distinct from Seo-gu’s comprehensive financial city. Centered around landmark towers (88 stories and 66 stories) symbolizing the numbers most favored by East Asians, a circular street layout was introduced to create “Interface Streets” connecting various urban facilities, thereby realizing pedestrian walkways themed around East Asian culture and commerce. In particular, alongside the restoration of Cheongna Island’s natural environment, a Green Network Belt was established using the motif of the organic integration of nature and the city. A green axis running through the center of the Cheongna district was established and reinforced to induce the mutual integration of water spaces and green systems through this organic interplay between nature and the city. Ultimately, by actively linking diverse functions and cultures, we propose an international financial city that realizes a mixed-use urban center integrating leisure, entertainment, and business—a place where diverse languages and ethnicities harmonize and various lifestyles thrive.
