COSTCO, Sangbong

In collaboration with the U.S. design firm Mulvanny G2, the design focused on meeting the needs of both Costco and its customer base in a more efficient and systematic manner within the retail facility.

Through our collaboration with Mulvanny G2, the role and significance of design have been growing steadily, as evidenced by the Costco Sangbong and Yangpyeong stores. The relationship between the overseas client and the international design firm has also matured day by day, ensuring that the Sangbong store project proceeded smoothly overall.

Significant effort was required to create a design that appeals to shoppers while preserving the image of a warehouse-style commercial facility that originated from the conversion of an aircraft hangar. The design was tailored to the preferences of Korean shoppers using Costco’s proprietary modules, which have been developed across its 206 stores worldwide.
