On Thursday, December 12, the “2024 IFEZ Landscape Awards” ceremony was held at G Tower in Songdo International City, Incheon.
The “IFEZ Landscape Award” was established to recognize outstanding architectural designs among architectural plans reviewed by the IFEZ (Incheon Free Economic Zone) Landscape Committee, with the aim of raising awareness of the importance of the landscape and fostering a social consensus that values it.
The winning entries were selected from a total of 71 proposals that passed the landscape review between November of last year and October of this year. After two rounds of evaluation based on criteria such as consistency with the landscape plan, creativity, distinctiveness, and sustainability in architectural design, the “Cheongna Medical Complex Town Medical Facilities” project, designed by JUNGLIM Architecture, was awarded the Grand Prize. It received high marks for its specialization in and contribution to the urban landscape, including highly refined details, a design faithful to the landscape master plan, and the active incorporation of Building-Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) as a design element to achieve both environmental sustainability and an original design.
