SFC Ochang Campus R&D Center

SFC Ochang Campus R&D Center

SFC Co., Ltd. pursues cultural flexibility and specializes in the research, development, and production of fine chemical materials; it is currently advancing the construction of a second R&D center within the foreign investment zone of the Ochang Scientific-Industrial Complex. The new R&D center is an extension of the existing research facility, intended to separate the office areas from the laboratory. During this expansion, common and office spaces from the original building were relocated to the new wing, while the laboratory zones were enlarged, simplifying the complex zoning originally clustered within one building. This development was carried out with the prerequisite that research and production areas handling chemicals, such as laboratories and cleanrooms, and welfare spaces providing convenience for researchers, be organically connected.

To enhance researchers’ work efficiency, clusters were designed for the research and production zones, allowing free movement between laboratories and cleanrooms to foster interrelations. Additionally, independent welfare areas were spatially separated but linked via rest zones serving as green lungs within the site. After completing the original research building in 2013, SFC plans to commence construction of the new R&D and cleanroom buildings in 2018. The SFC Research Center will embody the owner’s aspiration to create a functional and enriching space where researchers enjoy creative thinking.
