The cultural, recreational, and natural context linking the Ojeong Art Center, Ojeong District Office, and Ojeong Neighborhood Park is currently fragmented due to the low elevation of the site and the retaining wall of the district office. The design concept for the Ojeong Leisure Sports Center begins with overcoming the existing elevation differences on the site to naturally connect the surrounding environment, effectively extending Ojeong Park.
The elevated site actively embraces the natural and recreational context of Ojeong Neighborhood Park, blending seamlessly with the sports and recreation program, and offers the potential for new activities and unexpected events to emerge. The energy generated by the dynamic and active interior programs begins to radiate outward into the surrounding area at night. The irregular diagonal lines formed by the roof and facades are projected as light and shadow onto the surrounding land, defining the identity of the Ojeong Leisure Sports Center.
