The Kwangyoung Snug Aircity, Yeongjong Sky City, located at C7-8-3BL in Jungsan-dong, Jung-gu, Incheon, proposes a cityscape that harmonizes the region, culture, and nature in connection with the surrounding landscape. The primary building uses include a three-story neighborhood facility designed to meet street-level commercial demands of the central business district and a large “officetel” complex with 589 units. Each unit offers views opening to greenery, and a rooftop garden overlooking the sea in front of Yeongjong Island was planned.
Considering the corner lot adjacent to a side street at an intersection, the building is arranged in an L-shape, with a symbolic roof structure added to specialize the corner space. An open plaza accessible from inside the complex ensures a sense of openness and comfortable visual corridors. The lower floors that create a new cityscape, the Korean concept of “ru (樓)” for viewing spaces, and the façade design harmonizing with neighboring buildings’ grid patterns symbolically and simply express the connection between the sky and the earth.
