CONNEXT: Design Competition for Startup Planet in Pangyo

CONNEXT: Design Competition for Startup Planet in Pangyo

Pangyo is a city where advanced tech companies have gathered in one place under the Techno Valley development plan. However, these companies remain completely isolated from each other, and most employees return to nearby residential areas after work, resulting in a population hollowing-out where the city becomes empty once business hours end. The competition proposal “CONNEXT” is a coined term combining “connect” and “next.” It represents the concept of linking the city’s fragmented parts and expanding this into the city’s future by proposing a third Pangyo Techno Valley Startup Planet where urban inhabitants can truly “stay.”

The CONNEXT concept added to the Startup Planet, which will be the final piece of Pangyo, creates a single axis connecting the previously disconnected parts of the city. Along this axis, users are guided to experience various urban activities: commuting by autonomous shuttles, receiving directions from robots, and after work, enjoying diverse virtual reality content developed within the Startup Planet. Through these experiences, they will encounter a city where technology and daily life are connected like never before.
