Lotte Center Hanoi is a supertall skyscraper with 65 floors and a height of 267 meters, serving as a landmark in Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam. Due to the introduction of diverse programs and design modifications, the Lotte Center Hanoi has transformed completely from its initial plan into a building of a new character. Originally, the project was intended to include office and residence programs; however, after a change in project ownership, the podium for commercial facilities was expanded, resulting in a mixed-use complex comprising offices, a hotel, a department store, serviced residences, and a mart.
Large-scale long-term projects often face challenges in keeping the initial concept aligned with market trends. Particularly, massive mixed-use commercial facilities like Lotte Center are the complexes of diverse industries, requiring extensive consideration from the planning stage to anticipate and adapt to changes. This necessitates flexibility to respond to emerging market demands, a strength demonstrated by Junglim Architecture, which has extensive expertise designing large-scale complexes domestically and internationally. While maintaining the original design, Junglim Architecture aimed to embrace new demands by incorporating numerous technical and design reviews to realize a building that reflects Lotte Center Hanoi’s identity and the latest architectural trends.
