THE FANTASTIC VISIONS of MR.Q: The Art of representing Architecture
Architectural ideas begin with images and forms imbued with concepts.
When our consciousness and sensibilities reach their peak, concepts, images, and forms—the fruits of “conceptual imagination”—are born.
“Conceptual imagination” becomes architecture through countless adjustments to reality, and returns as a “conceptual experience” that inspires our consciousness and sensibilities when we experience the built space.
Therefore, architecture can be described as an infinite reflection or vibration between imagination and experience.
Within the two poles of imagination and experience, architectural concepts establish their validity through countless attempts.
The products manifested through these countless attempts were created merely as means to communicate architectural concepts; unlike architectural structures, their existence is not an end in itself.
The results of this conceptual imagination are naturally archived after a finite period of use.
is a rediscovery of the countless products that have vanished behind the scenes of completed architectural structures.
One might even call it the “afterlife” of these archives.
The exhibited works represent new creative endeavors that transcend the original concepts, intentions, and physical forms of the archived creations. We hope this exhibition will offer a glimpse into the architects’ diverse attempts at visual and sensory expression, their experiments, and the imagination and possibilities for communication they expand through these processes.
