Kangwon Land is Gangwon Province’s premier resort facility and has established itself as a hub of the tourism industry. However, public perception is increasingly becoming fixed on an image limited to the casino. In response, Kangwon Land undertook this project to renovate its existing theme park facilities with the aim of developing a theme resort based on the “High1” concept. Rather than creating a design that stands out with a flashy image amidst the surrounding buildings with diverse contexts, the project was conceived as a cultural connector that facilitates interaction between them. The goal was not only to harmonize with the surroundings but also to create a space that functionally offers visitors a variety of cultural experiences.
