Although the projects for the CGV Multiplex CINEMA, owned by the CJ Corporation, were limited in scope as interior design projects, they reflect JUNGLIM’s design philosophy of building healthy architecture in connection with cultural industries. Over the past 20 years, from 1998 to the present, Junglim participated in over sixty CGV projects, including the majority of the CGV theaters located across Korea. The most important priority of these project designs was the users’ convenience. An efficient circulation plan from the waiting area to the theater spaces, the production of a dark and cozy atmosphere via the use of lighting, an emphasis on emotional softness using oakwood, and the installation of an effective display area intended to maximize advertising revenue, are devices that promote leisure activities in Korea in invisible, rather than visible places.
