“While I have been working at Junglim Architecture for the past 30 years, my view towards architecture has been evolving without halt. At first, I intended to design pretty buildings, and then focused on the building occupants’ satisfaction. In recent days, I have been interested in such architecture as to fulfill the needs of society and advance the behaviors and mind-sets of building users. I am sure that sound architecture can foster good people, which is why I exist as an architect.
However, architectural design is enabled by teamwork. In other words, a group which is good at communication and teamwork is better than outstanding individuals to create quality works. Architecture needs personal creativity, but what realizes it into a building is a system of people. If the knowledge and experiences of projects carried out by each team become accumulated for a long time as references and there arises synergic collaboration between creative young designers and seasoned senior designers, we can expect sound architecture and good works. Such a stable organization that enables collaborative growth and is sustainable as a good system: this is the organization Junglim dreams of being.”
