The Yongin Citizens’ Sports Park Development Project is an initiative that comprehensively proposes a stadium—to serve as a symbolic landmark representing Yongin—along with sports facilities designed to enhance citizens’ well-being. The project scope includes a master plan for the Phase 1 site, which comprises the main stadium, auxiliary stadium, and bowling alley, as well as the Phase 2 site, which proposes a civic park harmoniously integrated with various programs. To establish a new symbol unique to Yongin, the design advocates for an open stadium that distinguishes itself from existing stadiums. It aims to create a distinctive stadium that maximizes the preservation of the site’s abundant natural greenery and allows the surrounding natural landscape to be viewed from within the stadium.
