Due to the limited space in the existing exhibition halls (the General Exhibition Hall and the Gyedang Memorial Hall), the Natural History Museum—designed to provide sufficient exhibition and storage space—will be constructed on a site within Bukhansan National Park. The design must address a 15-meter elevation difference within the site while adhering to a 20% building coverage ratio, requiring a plan that maximizes the use of the existing sloped terrain to accommodate the given program. In particular, the creation of various outdoor spaces within the national park—where students can organize exhibitions and interact with local residents—must be approached in an environmentally friendly manner that minimizes damage to the site.
