Mapo Resource Recovery Plant

The Mapo Resource Recovery Facility (a municipal solid waste incineration plant) selected its designer and contractor through a turnkey (design-build) tender in 2001, began construction in 2001, and was completed in 2005.

This comprehensive environmental facility can incinerate 750 tons of municipal solid waste per day (250 tons per unit across three units), recycles materials such as road base and paving materials, and supplies thermal energy for residential heating to 20,000 households. In addition, an ecological park has been created to provide a recreational space for local residents and visitors.
