Link-Age

Entering Yeungnam University. – The vast campus, embracing expansive green spaces, greets visitors with a sense of tranquility. Encountering the Site. – Situated along the extension of a sweeping green axis, the site speaks volumes without a word. At the intersection of three axes connecting the main gate and the main building, it holds countless stories. Communicating with It. – Surrounded by roads and traversed by the flow of countless people, this land must remain open. It must embrace everything and send it back out. Our communion with the land began in this way. Seeking the Links Between Water Spaces. – The main gate, the reservoir, and the pond in front of the main building form a network of water spaces across the campus, creating a rich outdoor environment. The planned site, situated at the center of these water spaces, must also serve as their source. Water originates from the roots of the History Exhibition Hall, which holds time within it. Connecting time to commemorate the 60th anniversary. – The past, originating from the History Exhibition Hall, meets the present at the boundary of the site and looks toward the future along the building’s extending axis. Pillars of light, imbued with water and extending from the History Exhibition Hall, form a “Link-Age” that connects time and reaches toward the sky.
