Digital Media City, created through the redevelopment of Nanjido—a former landfill site—and its surrounding areas into an eco-friendly, futuristic new town, is a world-class digital media and entertainment cluster. It serves as a cutting-edge hub for the development, production, and distribution of content, where the environment and technology, culture and industry, and investment and innovation converge. Sangam DMC boasts a strategic location connected to Yeongjongdo New Airport and Ilsan New Town to the west, Gimpo Airport and the Yeouido Broadcasting District south of the Han River, and the university districts of Sinchon and the Mapo sub-center to the east. The DMC project is significant as the first attempt to integrate Seoul’s urban and economic development, setting it apart from conventional residential or commercial building developments.
