The project to construct the main campus of the Korea Institute of Local Administration involves relocating the organization’s headquarters from Gangnam and Seocho in Seoul to the Wonju Innovation City, in line with the government’s policy on the relocation of public institutions to regional areas and the development of innovation cities.
To accommodate the diverse operational needs of the public institution as it takes up its new location in Wonju Innovation City, the building mass was segmented to create buffer zones. An efficient architectural plan, designed with the Institute’s work environment in mind, enhances operational efficiency and synergy among departments. Additionally, eco-friendly elements were incorporated to address the climatic characteristics of Gangwon Province.
