Competitive Design Proposal for Karachi IT Park

Competitive Design Proposal for Karachi IT Park

Pakistan’s IT industry is achieving remarkable global standing in fields such as software development and freelancing. Building on this, the Government of Pakistan has presented a vision for developing a knowledge-based economy and society through initiatives such as “Pakistan 2025” and the “Digital Pakistan Policy” (2018). In order to foster nationwide IT industry growth and strengthen competitiveness, it is essential to construct new buildings that can meet the needs of multiple software companies while serving as future hubs. Accordingly, the Karachi IT Park project in Pakistan has been promoted as an initiative supported by the Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF).

This proposal design envisions the IT park as a spatial platform that provides spaces, infrastructure, facilities, and services tailored to user needs, while building an IT development network in which diverse actors — including government, private companies, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) — can jointly participate and generate synergy. This is expected to establish itself as a new icon of Pakistan’s IT industry in the years to come.
