We defined the Jeonju University campus—which is preparing for a new beginning as a university that nurtures stars—as a single, organic microcosm (Universe), and defined the Star Center, planned as its central facility, as a newly formed galaxy (Galaxy) within this cosmic campus. The Star Center, which forms the core of the campus, consists of a central library based on the concept of a black hole—which absorbs knowledge and information—and the Star Service Center and Convention Center, based on the concept of a white hole, where youth and passion radiate and creativity flourishes. Meanwhile, to ensure the Star Center serves as a building that encompasses the entire campus, an internal thoroughfare based on the “wormhole” concept was planned to organically connect it with surrounding buildings. Additionally, a pedestrian mall—conceived as the “Milky Way” to symbolize a romantic college life—was designed to become the university’s most central and memorable venue for creating lasting memories. Through this, Jeonju University will lay the foundation for its ambitiously underway “JJ VISION 2010” initiative, establishing itself as an intellectual hub for local community development and a creative driving force as a knowledge-based center poised to make a leap onto the global stage.
