Jeju Dental Clinic for Persons with Special Needs

Jeju Dental Clinic for Persons with Special Needs

Jeju National University Hospital was designed with a master plan inspired by the layout of traditional Jeju houses at the foot of Mount Halla. The hospital is currently expanding from its current 655 beds to a target of 1,000 beds, and an outpatient wing was planned to address the shortage of space for the dental department and faculty research offices.
In harmony with the overall layout of the hospital, the design achieves a simple and serene aesthetic through several key elements: a layout set back from the vertical pedestrian axis known as “HOSPITAL STREET”; a clear functional division with outpatient services on the first floor and faculty research labs on the second, third, and fourth floors; a concise massing that accommodates future expansion; a regular facade created by repetitive rooms; and a canopy design that connects pedestrian access from the main building.
