Incheon National University Songdo Campus

Incheon National University Songdo Campus

The construction of Incheon National University’s new Songdo Campus holds two significant meanings.
First, it marks a new leap forward as the university transitions to a national university,
and second, it presents a future-oriented vision for the new campus in response to changes in the university’s research environment.

The patterns of research activities at educational institutions, particularly universities, are undergoing significant changes. Research is shifting from isolated activities in dedicated spaces to the creation of new disciplines and technologies through interdisciplinary research across different fields. Consequently, the Songdo New Campus focused its campus layout and spatial planning on addressing these evolving needs.

The campus is designed to serve as a space for mutual exchange through the centrally located Meeting Plaza and promenade. Research labs, laboratories, and lecture halls are planned to break down barriers between departments and colleges via shared spaces, facilitating interaction. This makes it a future-oriented campus capable of flexibly accommodating the diverse research activities that will emerge in the future.
