Hyechon Vision Center of Hyechon University (current DST)

This is a multi-complex educational facility (MULTI-COMPLEX EDUCATION FACILITY) that integrates various facilities—including professors’ offices, classrooms, an industry-academia collaboration building, a sky lounge/international conference hall, a multipurpose gymnasium/student amenities, and, although they were omitted during the planning phase, a kindergarten and guest house—all within a single site. By repeatedly distinguishing and interweaving the functions and formal characteristics of each program, we incorporate the most critical variable—a site elevation difference of over 10 meters. We extract two keywords as the common denominator shared by the programs, the planned site, and the context (CONTEXT). Flow and Link. Ensuring a smooth flow between programs of different natures and establishing functional connections between the school and the local community serve as the keywords that permeate the entire process.
