Doan New Town is a new town currently under construction in the Seo-gu and Yuseong-gu districts in the southwestern part of Daejeon Metropolitan City. It is a joint project led by the Korea Land and Housing Corporation and the Daejeon Urban Development Corporation. The Daejeon Doan District is surrounded by major universities in Daejeon, such as Mokwon University, Baejae University, Hanbat National University, and Chungnam National University, making it a site that requires housing tailored to university students. Recently, newlyweds and seniors seeking affordable and practical housing have also been settling in the Doan District, away from the center of Daejeon. We began our design process with the goal of creating the most comfortable and trendy spaces for these target residents within the given site.
