The Gwanak Agricultural Cooperative Agricultural Products Department Store, to be constructed in Sillim-dong, Gwanak-gu, will overcome the limitations of existing substandard facilities and serve as a modern, upscale shopping and cultural space. The design highlights symbolism by reflecting the regional identity of Gwanak and Sinlim, as well as natural elements such as the sun and earth—the origins of agriculture. A key challenge was planning a building that harmonizes with the surrounding area, which is densely populated with low-rise commercial spaces and residential buildings. Additionally, eco-friendly cultural spaces such as a rooftop garden, deck, and “Eco Pocket” have been incorporated to create a community hub for local residents.
