FITI Testing Research Institute is a national test certificate authority specialized in various fields such as commodities like textiles and clothing, industrial materials, and environment. This project was to build its new office in the district of Magok, Seoul, that would integrate the existing research institutes that had been scattered as the home office and the branches across different regions. It was necessary to establish the direction of planning which is clear and systematic considering phased works of construction according to the client limited budget, given that it was important to suggest various experimental programs (in chemistry, physics, biology, environment, and the like). Also, considering the locational character of District Magok, it was necessary to overcome the three large challenges: the height limit by the aviation altitude; the issue of articulating the mass at the higher part and securing the walkway at the lower part when synthesizing lots by the district unit planning; and the limitation of mass length.

We intended to reflect the corporate philosophy, history, and vision of this national research authority which is 50 years old. Now inducing harmony between the employees while interacting with the locality and society, this organization is settling as the new main office of FITI Test Research Institute that suggests the new paradigm of a research institute building as a leader of the time.
