Bom Obsterics & Gynecology Clinic

Bom Obsterics & Gynecology Clinic

The various elements that needed to be determined in the early stages of design emerged from the program and the site’s context.

The site, as a place that gives birth to life, and the south-facing space with its warmth inherently shared an inevitable relationship that required the space to be both solemn and comfortable. Here, the connection between nature and birth was approached through the element of water, and several images from photographer Hans Silverster’s “Images on Water” served as a visual source of inspiration for the word “water,” influencing many design decisions.

The selected images were transformed in my imagination into the form of the building, its skin, and its interior and exterior spaces. Through several sketches and models, they gradually took shape as the building itself.
