Almaty Sports Complex

Almaty Sports Complex

As part of its strategy to become one of the top 30 global economies by 2050, Kazakhstan is implementing projects to expand its sports infrastructure with the goal of promoting public health through a sports boom. In addition, Almaty, Kazakhstan’s largest city and commercial hub, is preparing to host an international event after successfully securing the bid for the 2017 Winter Universiade. The Almaty Sports Complex, which will be built in conjunction with the Almaty Main Stadium, was designed to serve as a landmark sports complex and a public space for shared events. This approach ensures the facility aligns with the goals of promoting public health through a sports boom and successfully hosting the 2017 Winter Universiade, while also ensuring its sustainability long after the event concludes. Furthermore, the inclusion of recreational sports facilities, research institutes, medical centers, and broadcasting-related facilities will enable the Almaty Sports Complex to function as a sports hub for the city of Almaty.
