The “HL Mando NEXT M R&D Center” was selected as a finalist for the 28th Gyeonggi Architecture Culture Award!!

Date2023-09-20

NEXT M is located at the start of the Innovation Enterprise Belt and on the border with the 3rd Techno Valley.
Centered on autonomous driving—a new business sector for Mando Corporation—the project aimed to differentiate itself from existing businesses and integrate technologies with other fields related to the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Through this, it sought to realize sharing and collaboration and build a global startup and innovation ecosystem where all participants grow together.

The most distinctive feature of NEXT M is that diverse users coexist within a single building based on their tenancy conditions.

Users are broadly divided into three groups: HL Clemove—a company spun off from Mando Corporation and newly launched as a specialized autonomous driving firm—and related companies associated with its business, which occupy the space on a lease basis; and, finally, numerous startups visiting from outside to receive business support from the aforementioned companies. Consequently, significant consideration was required to determine how these diverse users could coexist harmoniously—remaining securely separated while still collaborating and communicating as needed.

As an architectural solution, three communication spaces tailored to specific user groups were first established, and the corporate spaces were then organized around them.

We hope these spaces will serve as a medium for internal and external communication and, paradoxically given the cutting-edge image of autonomous driving and mobility, become places where all employees feel warm and comfortable.
